Parents like her who have seen the direct benefits for their children of the foundation's work will know that it is impossible to put a value on that work. Nonetheless, Liam McArthur should understand and indicate that this period of confusion and unfairness—even if it is applied to a limited number of boats, which is totally unjustifiable—exemplifies exactly what is wrong with the common fisheries policy, which is why so many of us have been struggling for so long to get rid of the underlying policy that visits so much injustice on the Scottish fishing industry.
