This may be to decrease the frequency of injections to minimise visits to GP practices or hospitals. Alternatively, there are situations where it is possible for people to self-inject hydroxocobalamin if their GP or health professional agree this would be suitable.

Health Protection Scotland regularly reviews their advice, taking into account available evidence, to ensure information given to people visiting, and returning from affected countries is up-to-date.
This section replaces subsection (1) of section 81 of the 1984 with a new subsection. The new version is in identical terms to the existing one except that “30” is replaced with “20”.
