However, due to the preferred supplier being unable to provide a fixed-price response within the required timeframe, Audit Scotland will no longer incur the originally planned development and infrastructure costs in 2025/26. The Act has also encouraged greater numbers of public service providers to engage with their communities on a range of matters to help improve local service delivery. In relation to Asset Transfer in the Act, it is the first of its kind in the UK and around 500 asset transfer requests have been made since 2017.
While BTP is a UK-wide special police force it carries out devolved law enforcement functions in Scotland. Consultation 26. Consultation on the relevant measures was undertaken by the UK Government as part of preparing the provisions and no major issues arose. 27.
