Supported by: Miles Briggs*, Bill Kidd*, Stuart McMillan*, Richard Lyle* *S5M-20272 Neil Findlay: Downgrade of St John's Children's Ward—That the Parliament notes with alarm the reported number of children from West Lothian who have needed to travel to Edinburgh for treatment due to the closure of the 24/7 children’s ward at St John’s in Livingston; understands that, since the 24/7 service ended in 2017, more than 1,000 children have been taken in ambulances from Livingston to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, and believes that the 24/7 service should reopen at St John’s to ease what it sees as the burden for local sick children and their families.
