This Bill considers children to be under 18 and young people to be between 18 and 26.
Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP introduced the Bill because she thinks disabled children and young people need extra support to help them transition to adulthood.
Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee
The Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee considered the instrument at its meeting on 26 April 2022 and agreed that no points arose.
The Scottish Government responded on 26 January 2021 giving assurance that it would continue to engage with Police Scotland and other key stakeholders to discuss their concerns about how the powers can be used.

The Committee published its report on 26 April 2023. It is expected that the Scottish Government will respond to the report early in the next parliamentary year.
