Supported by: David Torrance*, Gordon Lindhurst*, Joan McAlpine*, Bill Kidd*, Ash Denham*, Alexander Stewart*, Sandra White*, Richard Lyle*, Jenny Gilruth* *S5M-08040 Emma Harper: Success of Visit South West Scotland That the Parliament — commends Visit South West Scotland on reaching 250 members and understands that it is continuing to grow week-on-week; recognises the work that it does to promote the region as an accessible, unspoilt and unique location to visit, offering an abundance of wildlife, Dark Skies events, stunning produce and friendly people; notes that, when it started in 2016, the group only had a confirmed membership of 90 who were predominantly accommodation providers; understands that it has expanded the membership to include all types of tourism business across the south west, including camping to glamping, 4-star hotels to the smallest guest houses, restaurants, inns, pubs, golf clubs, historical properties, gardens, museums and activity providers, and commends the group on its plans to engage with as many tourism businesses as possible to bring hardworking groups and individuals in the industry together to achieve a cohesive force for tourism, and to ensure that the visitors' journeys and stays are memorable and pleasurable.
