That is why the Scottish Government, alone of the four UK administrations, has continued to set the standard for boards to achieve that 98% of patients should be admitted, transferred or discharged within four hours.
That means that legal aid expenditure is likely to reach £174 million in 2025-26, which is an increase of £5 million on last year’s expenditure budget.
