However, a birth partner can continue to support a woman during hospital visits, including labour and birth and support thereafter as these visits are essential and will continue as long as the period of local restrictions are in place.
My final amendment in the group, amendment 188, is a minor drafting correction to clarify that ministers should publish the latest version of guidance on lotting decisions “as soon as is practicable after issuing it.”
I know from direct experience with a constituent that, within hours of the opening of the fund on 26 October, the programme was oversubscribed and had to be paused.
I am thinking about the ability to extend or reduce a zone or to add a new site. I used the example of a new hospital—a replacement service in another area.
The UK Government is very open to hearing ideas on the UK-EU reset, so it is up to business groups such as ourselves to ensure that we are getting the latest data from our members and to formulate and communicate the proposals to committees such as this one and to the UK Government.
Dorothy Ogle might want to talk about that. In producing the latest version of the guidance we have looked at that issue again because it was not clear exactly what was meant.
I thank the minister for advance sight of her statement and for the generous tone in which she delivered it. The statement described a “new beginning” for ScotRail, but the only thing that is new is that ScotRail is coming under new ownership.
