Letter from the Convener, Public Audit Committee, 26 June 2023.
The Scottish Parliament examines what the Scottish Government is doing, makes new laws on devolved matters and debates the issues of the day..
They will demonstrate that although the new deal for business is no longer new, this is the new normal for how we operate, and we will consistently drive continuous improvement on that.
The objective of the legislation is to introduce yearly mandated sales targets for new zero emission cars and vans for vehicle manufacturers to meet, ramping up to 80% of new cars, and 70% of new vans, by 2030, and introduce non-zero emissions vehicle (non-ZEV) CO2 emissions regulations for all new non-ZEV cars and vans sold.
Specifically, the Committee held evidence sessions on the following dates:
7 May 2024
14 May 2024
21 May 2024
The Committee wrote to the Minister for Public Finance on 26 June 2024 following up on the issues raised in the review sessions.
The Committee issued a call for views and received 26 responses. These responses were from teachers, parents, schools and other interested parties, and were very useful in shaping the Committee's inquiry.
