The Minister for Victims and Community Safety wrote to the Committee on 26 February 2026 to advise that the draft instrument would therefore be withdrawn and a revised SSI laid.
However, during a debate on the report held in Parliament on 26 February 2026, the Deputy First Minister stated, “I think that there are routes to implementing all the Committee’s recommendations”8Scottish Parliament. (2026, February 26).
To this end, we request that, in its response to this report, the Scottish Government sets out clearly how it is targeting spending in its 2025-26 Budget towards achieving each of the First Minister’s four priorities.
