I admit that I have been a little sceptical about the academy, because it seems to have a very fancy website but I am not sure how much value we are getting out of it.

As justice of the peace courts and sheriff courts have different sentencing powers, a higher sentence could be imposed on persons whose cases are transferred from a justice of the peace court that is closing to a sheriff court if they are convicted or sentenced after the transfer.
We still have a job of work to do to convince them about the single transferable vote system, which is why we have the voter education phase, which we discussed in Parliament last week.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will report on the outcome of the recent British-Irish Council Summit. On 26 November 2012, the nineteenth meeting of the British-Irish Council was held in Cardiff, Wales.
The idea is that if we close a court like Stonehaven and transfer the business to Aberdeen, that in effect will mean that the Aberdeen court will work more efficiently because it will have less downtime because of the transfer of the work.
