Police numbers are well supported in the country; the latest official statistics show that there were 16,427 police officers as of 30 June 2025, and there remains a healthy recruitment pipeline for police officers in Scotland.
If it is all down to the SNP, why, in the latest full month for which we have statistics, is A and E performance in Scotland 6.2 percentage points better than performance in Wales, where Labour is in government?
I am cautious about saying what the latest number is; I think that it is certainly more than £7 billion, but I would probably need to come back to you on that.

However, on Tuesday 9 November, 2,233 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Scotland and yesterday that number rose to 3,852 new cases, which is very alarming.
