To ask the Scottish Government how many college places were available in welding in the current academic year compared to the previous four academic years. The latest figures on students studying welding at colleges are for 2010-11.
The committee has also called on the Government to provide detailed spending plans in relation to childcare provisions. The latest programme for government does not set out any new funding that will be available to meet the new childcare commitments.
We have emphasised our commitment to that process on several occasions, most recently on 26 January, when the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills responded to Mr Whitfield’s question about our latest discussions with the UK Government.
