The standing item on the agenda when you and your colleagues come to visit us is the historical commitments that the Government has made to the committee in relation to instruments.

Ahead of today’s meeting, I thought I would check what it is doing, and I saw that it has “kids for a quid” offers to encourage young people to watch the sport. Anyone who has visited Braehead cannot help but be enthused by the number of families who go to see ice hockey as a spectator sport.
We need to think about the exposure to second-hand smoke that such things cause for staff, patients accessing care and everyone who visits the hospital. That is why the measure is really important.
We hope that the CPG will operate through semi-regular meetings, occasional visits and an annual event at which the best of Scotland’s beer and pub sector can be showcased.

The First Minister’s visit consisted of four days in Chicago which was largely business related and two days with the Team Scotland delegation at Medinah where the Ryder Cup was staged.
