Celebrating LGBT+ History Month: The Parliament debated S6M-07857 in the name of Joe FitzPatrick—That the Parliament recognises that February is LGBT+ History Month; notes that LGBT+ History Month exists to raise awareness of the LGBT+ community’s history and promote equality; welcomes the theme for 2023 LGBT+ History Month, "Behind the Lens", which aims to celebrate LGBT+ people’s hard work and contributions made to the production of film and cinema from "behind the lens", such as directors, producers, cinematographers, screenwriters, costume designers, musical score composers, choreographers, special effects artists, makeup artists, set designers, lighting specialists, sound specialists, and support staff, such as caterers; further welcomes LGBT+ History Month’s celebration of people in all their diversity, through raising awareness and tackling prejudice with education; understands that LGBT+ History Month is coordinated by LGBT Youth Scotland, a national charity aimed at promoting health and wellbeing among LGBTQIA young people aged 13 to 25 across the country, hosting in-person and online events in partnership with other organisations; wishes all involved every success in their endeavours, and notes the call for everyone to support the campaign and raise awareness of the part that everyone can play in making Scotland a fairer, just and more equal society for all. 8.

Reforming the Criminal Law to Address Misogyny: The Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans (Keith Brown) moved S6M-08159—That the Parliament condemns the misogynistic behaviour, harassment, threats and abuse experienced by women and girls; notes that such behaviour is carried out mainly by men and represents a barrier to achieving equality by restricting the ability of women and girls to achieve their full potential in all aspects of everyday life; is concerned at the increase in online spaces being used to perpetrate such misogynistic behaviours, allowing people to hide behind anonymity; agrees that action needs to be taken to address such behaviour; thanks the independent Working Group on Misogyny, which is chaired by Baroness Helena Kennedy, for its considered report on how to reform criminal law to address misogyny; welcomes the publication of a consultation paper on draft legislative provisions to implement the Group's recommendations; notes that the Scottish Government will carefully consider responses to the consultation to ensure that legislation introduced in the Parliament appropriately and effectively criminalises this type of pernicious behaviour, and recognises that legislation alone will not eradicate the centuries-old cultural attitudes that drive such behaviour, and that wider action to address misogyny and promote...

The Scottish Government established an expert review group in August 2014 to consider the powers available in Scotland to tackle the sale and supply of NPS. The group published its report on 26 February 2015. The report makes six recommendations which we are taking forward.
