The new intermediary will help the sector to realise its potential by promoting resilience and sustainability and developing opportunities in new policy areas and development programmes.
The issue of housing is one that many local economies depend on, and the Government will establish a new £150 million building Scotland fund to unlock new house building, develop new low-carbon commercial property and support research and development.
We have a year and a half with the development officer to put into place our top actions, and we will lodge the local place plan, which is the formal part of the process, next June at the latest, and probably earlier than that—we hope to have it in by the end of the year.
Combined, the changes have the potential to reinvigorate the small landholding sector and breathe new life into smaller areas that are suitable for new entrants to access.
