Thank you for your letter of 26 March regarding The Deposit and Return Scheme for Scotland Regulations 2020.
I know that all of you will probably say that the situation has led to added costs, and you might well have had to take on new people to deal with the new rules and regulations.
Spending £25 million or £30 million on a new school is like buying a new car, only using it to go work from Monday to Friday and leaving it to sit redundant for the rest of the week.
Nobody will be required to take the scheme article back to the exact store that they bought it from. Even if they buy it online from a small retailer, they can return it anywhere.
