The draft regulations also makes a number of additional changes to the EFAs regime, namely: Add four new options farmers can undertake in order to meet their EFA requirements (low input grassland, herb and legume rich pastures, unharvested crop and low density woodland planting); Increase the proportion of land managed as EFA to 5% in 2026 and 7% from 2027; Increase the field margin requirement from 1 to 3 metres; and Make changes to how farmers use maps for managing their EFA land and access payments.
