We are talking about money from the general grant that councils have decided to spend on X, rather than on Y. That money has nothing to do with the police budget or anything like that.
Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Bill (Independent Custody Visiting) To ask the Scottish Executive what its reasons are for placing independent custody visiting on a statutory footing as part of the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Bill.
We know that tourism is one of Scotland’s most important industries, and getting more people to visit our rural communities will boost local economies and enable growth.
That will, of course, include European Union recruitment. I recently visited NHS Fife’s Victoria hospital, for example, and I met nurse recruits from India, the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates.
I know that Marie Curie, even in the past challenging year, has made more than 1,000 visits to people in my area, which is covered by NHS Highland, and I thank its staff for that.
