Official Report Meeting date: 4 November 2013

Finance Committee 04 November 2013

We have enjoyed our visit to Arbroath. It has been a lovely sunny day for those of us who were out at lunchtime enjoying the sunshine, visiting the harbour and so on.
Official Report Meeting date: 2 March 2021

Meeting of the Parliament (Hybrid) 02 March 2021

How does the minister justify telling the public that, for health reasons, they cannot visit their loved ones, even in the garden, if they happen to live in another council area, but that election candidates will be able to travel—in some cases, for regional candidates, it will be from one side of the country to the other—to knock on anyone’s door and ask f...

Meeting of the Parliament 24 November 2020

In her letter, the cabinet secretary explained that the wording of the amendment may hamper existing schemes that are linked to other services but not contingent on them, such as health visitor visits. I get that, but I want reassurance that people who need the products will not need to be concerned about it—that they will not have to prove their need or mi...

Meeting of the Parliament (Hybrid) 01 September 2020

How will the Scottish Government make sure that rural and island communities such as those in my constituency are fully included in the blueprint that will be taken forward? I have visited very exciting tech businesses—some of the most exciting businesses that I have seen—in Beatrice Wishart’s constituency and, slightly further south, in Orkney.

Meeting of the Parliament 26 February 2020

Clare Adamson gave a good example, and I will give a similar one. At a recent visit to RAF Lossiemouth, I met a group of parents who had specific needs and requirements, given the nature of how their children are taught and how they learn.

Meeting of the Parliament 28 January 2020

On that last point about communicating the progress on an on-going basis, that is largely being led by Professor White, but he is being informed in that work by the parent representatives and others who are working with them. I am due to visit the Queen Elizabeth university Hospital and the Royal hospital shortly after the February recess.
Official Report Meeting date: 30 October 2019

Meeting of the Parliament 30 October 2019

As part of the its scrutiny of that legislation, the Justice Committee drew heavily on the experience and expertise of third sector organisations such as TARA. During a visit to the charity’s Glasgow office, I was extremely fortunate to have a one-to-one meeting with a trafficked survivor.
Official Report Meeting date: 3 September 2019

Meeting of the Parliament 03 September 2019

I am delighted that the workforce in Ferguson’s, who I visited on the day that the Scottish Government pursued public control, welcomed the Scottish Government’s intervention.
Official Report Meeting date: 13 June 2019

Equalities and Human Rights Committee 13 June 2019

Because committee members are unpaid and cannot access expenses for such travel, it is incumbent on civil society or national human rights institutions to pay for that to happen. It is our perception that that visit enabled a deeper understanding of the situation in Scotland and fuller engagement with Scotland’s devolution settlement in the concluding obser...
Official Report Meeting date: 11 June 2019

Meeting of the Parliament 11 June 2019

Between January and March this year, David Reedy gathered information by conducting stakeholder interviews, inviting written feedback, and examining the submissions to and findings from the P1 practitioner forum and the Education and Skills Committee’s inquiry into the Scottish national standardised assessments. Crucially, he visited schools to observe the ...
