To ask the Scottish Executive what the budgets have been for (a) prison visiting committees and (b) the Association of Visiting Committees in each of the last three years.
Interestingly, there were pupils there from Perth. They were visiting Skye for a week, during which they were learning Gaelic and participating in other things with their Gaelic teacher.
To go back to the wartime example, at that stage, almost every household in the UK was visited by a canvasser who knocked on the door and explained what the rules were in the area.
When they are arrested, the local authority will be notified of that, to allow it to visit the child for welfare purposes and to make sure that they are okay and secure.
