The timetable for the Scottish Budget 2026-27 (Scottish Government, 2026a) was delayed by the timing of the UK Autumn Budget 2025 which was held on 26 November 2025. The Westminster Parliament does not take ex-ante scrutiny of public expenditure seriously, unlike the devolved legislatures.
