Local authority appointed 'authorised officers' (i.e. dog wardens) are expected to be skilled in the control of dogs, and also have the capacity to instruct and advise others in dog control matters.
A person authorised by a designated authority, typically a parking attendant or environmental warden, can request someone they consider to be committing an idling offence to turn off their vehicle’s engine.
I very much look forward to working together with them, and across the chamber, to deliver the actions that we need. Our top priorities include the development of our next climate change plan, a draft of which will be brought to Parliament this November, and taking forward our new biodiversity strategy.
