S6M-03086: Edward Mountain: Highland Pre-hospital Immediate Care and Trauma Service - That the Parliament supports what it sees as the pioneering and life-saving work of the Highland Pre-hospital Immediate Care and Trauma (PICT) service; understands that Highland PICT is a dual clinician Medic/Advanced Practitioner rapid response team that is based at Raigmore Hospital, in Inverness, and provides enhanced frontline care to medical and traumatic emergencies across the Highlands; further understands that, since 2015, the team has successfully expanded its operations from a two-day service to a seven-day service, which has been in place since August 2020; considers that Highland PICT meets the ambitions of the Scottish Government’s national trauma network programme and plays a key role in NHS Highland’s major incident planning, collaborating with the Scottish Ambulance Service and other emergency services; notes, with deep concern, reports that NHS Highland’s funding review for Highland PICT will result in a reduced service of four days per week, and further notes the calls encouraging the NHS board to reconsider its funding proposal for what it sees as a vital service.
