The Scottish Government is taking a number of actions to help reduce the level of crime on the streets in Glasgow: We continue to deliver our commitment to 1,000 additional police officers; We have invested over £5 million through our CashBack for Communities scheme between 2008-09 and 2013-14 to deliver 161,236 free sporting, cultural and educational activities for children and young people in Glasgow; We are investing £0.85 million over the next three years in two new cash back projects being delivered by Action for Children and Celtic FC Foundation which focus on helping young offenders or at-risk youngsters in Glasgow into guaranteed employment opportunities; We have provided £2.25 million (with a further £0.5 million to March 2015) to fund Link Up, a partnership between Inspiring Scotland and charities to build resilience and capacity in 10 deprived communities across Scotland, including Possilpark and the Gorbals; and We are investing £9 million over three years to tackle sectarianism.
