To ask the Scottish Government how the proposals outlined in its latest Building a New Scotland paper, Social Security in an independent Scotland, would support Scotland’s social security system.
As an MSP, I am notified if a minister visits my region. Sometimes that happens a long time ahead of the visit and at other times it happens the day before.
There is some concern about the fact that section 26 of the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003—which relates to reporting—is being repealed and some confusion about what the new process will be.
They have continued to provide exceptional care to pregnant women and new mothers not just in hospital, but in the community, visitingnew families in their homes, carrying out newborn check-ups and providing breastfeeding support at the height of the pandemic.
In other words, although we very much have a visit focus, we are also focusing in a wider sense on Scotland as a country and a destination where people can live, visit and work.
