I do not think that any of the partners would have hoped to be in the situation that we are in right now, and the commitment now is to try to get clarification on the new projects and provide investment for them.
We have just had a long discussion that centred very much on a letter from the Scottish Government, dated 22 March, in response to the committee’s letter of 26 February 2019. We have considered the response, and we will write back to the Scottish Government for clarification of some points and some additional reassurance on some points.
When errors are identified, the public bodies that are involved try to get that money back. My point is that although you have to pay a fee to get the data sets, and although you track the fraud, you do not get to recover the fee that you have to pay in the first place.
