Lived experience engagement
The Committee met with members of Scottish Women's Aid's Survivor Reference Group (SRG) on 26 March and 11 June 2025. The SRG is made up of women with lived experience of domestic abuse.
Noting that the new offence relates to a mix of reserved and devolved matters, there is a good justification for approaching this area consistently across the UK including in Scotland.
Indications from CHS are that they would expect the initially-recruited group of new chairing members to comprise a blend of new appointees and a number of suitably qualified, and sufficiently flexible, current serving children’s panel members.
