Indeed, it is leading the way on that, and I know from my visit that local authorities from throughout the United Kingdom have been visiting the model with the aim of establishing it in their areas.
Initially, there was a £20 million cut for universities and a £26 million cut for colleges. More recently, there was a £26 million cut to pay for pay rises for teachers, and there was another £56 million cut from demand-led courses.
A particular concern has been expressed in evidence about armed forces visits to special schools. The petitioners call for an inquiry into such visits, which should look at whether they should be prohibited.
