Notes of fact-finding visits and engagement activity
On 7 January 2025, the Committee undertook informal engagement with members of The Assembly, a group comprising of people with a learning disability and autistic people, about the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill.
Section 7 gives courts the power to remove or limit the effect of any decision, or to suspend the effect of the decision for any period and on any conditions to allow the breach or incompatibility to be addressed.
Section 7 - Reports relating to the exercise of the section 1(1) power
Section 7(1) requires Scottish Ministers to prepare and lay before the Scottish Parliament a report explaining how the section 1(1) power has been used during the 'reporting period'.
