It may be some time before the health records of all certificate holders are flagged because the new arrangements are only applied in cases where new applications are being made or certificates are due for renewal.
Progress towards eliminating hepatitis C (HCV) in Scotland is monitored by Public Health Scotland (PHS). PHS’s latest HCV surveillance report, published in January 2025, described progress as “hugely encouraging”.
