In 2017-18, Scotland’s revenue departmental expenditure limit block grant from Westminster was £26.2 billion in real terms, and the equivalent block grant number for 2018-19, as announced in the recent UK budget, is £26 billion. Even the Tories can see that £26 billion is less than £26.2 billion.

C HAPTER 2A S UPPORT FOR ADOPTION 10L Peer support services 15 (1) The Adoption and Children (Scotland) Act 2007 is amended as follows. (2) After section 12, insert— “Other support for adoptions 12A Duty to promote peer support services (1) Where peer support services are available in a local authority’s area for persons 20 mentioned in section 1(3), the local authority must take reasonable steps to promote awareness of, and encourage the uptake of, such services by such persons throughout the adoption process and after any adoption has taken place. (2) In subsection (1), “peer support” means support in relation to adoption that is 25 provided by persons with lived experience of the adoption process.”.
