Unlike Mr O’Kane, I cannot offer members the reassurance that I will not detain them for a while, given the number of amendments in the group, but I will do my best.My amendment 26 reflects the fact that the drafting of section 7(1)(zc) is not quite right, as it requires the assessing doctors to “enquire about and discuss” an adult’s reasons for wishing to be provided with assistance to die.
