Does the committee wish to note that the Scottish Government intends to address, in an amending instrument, the points in questions 1, 2(2), 3, 4, 5(1) and (2), 6, 8(1) and 9, and to address, by correction slip, the point in question 7?
The Committee wrote to the Scottish Government on 7 January 2021 with questions on a cross-referencing error identified in new rule 26(8) of the instrument.
In its response, the Scottish Government agreed that the cross-reference in rule 26(8) should be to paragraph (7) not paragraph (6).
That track would have been renewed at some point in the future—say seven or 10 years from now—so we have pulled forward costs that we would have incurred in future to get the programme to give us the best possible railway when we commission it.
