Additionally, the Framework underscores the wider societal benefits of physical activity, such as supporting educational attainment, reducing reoffending, promoting sustainable transport, and enhancing engagement with the natural environment.
Business Gateway and local authorities could help to promote the new policy. It is challenging for very small businesses to keep up with the latest legislation, so we need to make sure that those who support small businesses are aware of the changes.
As detailed in our programme for Government for 2025-26, we are committed to carrying out a comprehensive assessment of the law in relation to non-fatal strangulation to determine if there is further action that needs to be taken.
