The Scottish Government has yet to receive final details of the financial settlement that it will get from the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy in April 2017.
The problem is that, if it is funded by existing grant aid, something else will have to be given up. You cannot get the same service out of a £1 note or a £1 coin.
It has not done that so far—but there will be more on that tomorrow. Whenever we can getnew ferries—we can only hope—it is clear that they should be more fuel efficient.
There is some concern about the fact that section 26 of the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003—which relates to reporting—is being repealed and some confusion about what the new process will be.
