Section 7: Duty for relevant public bodies to facilitate the implementation of Park Plans
Section 7 of the Bill places a duty on public bodies to "facilitate the implementation of” National Park Plans.
Sections 6, 7 and 12: interruptions and extensions
Under the 1973 Act, the twenty year prescription period (and the five year prescription period) can be interrupted by someone starting court proceedings to pursue a relevant claim and by the person bound by the obligation acknowledging that the obligation still exists (a relevant acknowledgement).
Local authorities have to decide what is best for their areas. I am very pleased that many new houses are being built, but I recognise that in some areas it would be advantageous for the local authorities to buy off-the-shelf properties or buy back properties.
After debate, amendment S6M-16755.3 was agreed to ((DT) by division: For 57 (including 3 proxy votes), Against 50, Abstentions 7 (including 1 proxy vote)). As a result, amendments S6M-16755.1 and S6M-16755.2 were pre-empted.
