There are always good reasons to hold back, but a delay now is also a delay at the end of the process, because it is difficult to catch up with a delay once it has happened.It is important for Scotland to proceed with our major new public transport projects, which have pretty wide cross-party support.

The regulations will ensure that the fees charged by landfill operators cover the full cost of running sites to the new standards laid down by SEPA. We have adopted that flexible approach for small operators such as the farmers to whom Helen Eadie referred.
