Policy Memorandum Female Genital Mutilation (Protection and Guidance) (Scotland) Bill

The Bill provides a power for the court to make interim FGM Protection Orders for those situations where there is an immediate risk of significant harm or that the person to be protected may be taken out of the United Kingdom for FGM purposes. 26. The Bill also makes it a criminal offence to breach a female genital mutilation protection order.
