The Scottish Government is working with Zero Waste Scotland to update their latest capacity analysis and expect to publish the results in 2026.This work will inform the development of Scotland's residual waste plan to 2045.

We expect that relevant authority plans will be published in 2025. This allows time for relevant authorities to have regard to the content of the national plan when preparing their own plans, and to consult on the content.

To ask the Scottish Government by what date it will issue regulations and guidance to implement Part 2 of the Alcohol etc (Scotland) Act 2010, which allows local authorities to establish social responsibility levies on alcohol sales to support prevention and treatment of substance misuse.
