To ask the Scottish Executive what steps are being taken to ensure that, when the new concessionary travel scheme comes into effect on 1 April 2006, senior citizens will at all times be guaranteed a seat on a “first come, first served” basis and no differentiation will be made between them and paying customers.

I am aware of the excellent workcarried out by the Youthstart employment initiative in South Lanarkshire. It was previously a successful New Futures Fund (NFF) project that SouthLanarkshire Council agreed to fund from April 2005.
To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-22025 by Tavish Scott on 10 February 2006, how it will expedite the delivery of the new car park at Croy railway station.
To ask the Scottish Executive how the capping powers integral to the new concessionary travel scheme will operate in practice in order to prevent any misuse of the system by any rogue bus operators.
To ask the Scottish Executive, in light of the understanding that operators will be reimbursed at the rate of £0.736 per pound of the average adult fare within the new concessionary travel scheme, how that average fare will be calculated given the number of different types of tickets available to bus passengers.
