I announced funding for the establishment of an Advocacy Safeguards Agency when I attended the Advocacy 2000's conference in February. This new agency will have a key role in ensuring compliance with the commitment in Our National Health that integrated, independent advocacy is available to all who need it.

The Scottish Executive has no specific budget provision for the promotion of new direct air links. The Executive will continue to work in partnership with the Enterprise Networks, VisitScotland and the airport operators, on how best any available funding can be deployed for the greatest benefit of the Scottish economy and tourism.
