To ask the Presiding Officer what estimated cost for the new Parliament building at Holyrood was provided to the Scottish Parliament Corporate Body (SPCB) by the design team at each SPCB meeting when the project was discussed from 1 June 1999 onwards.
We accept that this is a complicated cross-border issue and if it is not possible for you to reject the proposal, we ask that you use your authority to postpone the process for a period of one year, during which the legal situation could be clarified and the best solution found. Thank you for bringing the petition to us this morning.
In the paper that has been given to members, the clerks have highlighted in bold the areas that we may wish to consider before finalising our policy on the order. I suggest that the best way to deal with this is to go through those areas now.The first issue concerns the registration of non-pecuniary interests.
