This is our first meeting since we heard Wendy Alexander's good news. Before we start the formal business of the meeting, I want to record our congratulations to Wendy on the birth of her twins.
However, the order does not amend all the figures in section 48(4) of the act to reflect the new amounts for section 48(3). That is probably an oversight because it does not accord with previous practice.
No apologies have been received for the meeting, because we have a 100 per cent turnout.I welcome Alasdair Morgan as a new committee member and record our appreciation of Stewart Stevenson's contribution.
As regards item 1, the fact that the new member has sent his apologies means that he cannot make a declaration of interests, so we will move straight to item 2.

Item in Private Before we move on to new petitions, may I have the agreement of the committee to deal in private with item 4, on witness expenses, as it concerns an application by individuals?
There is no map with the order. Is that an accident or a new precedent? The Executive thinks that members have already committed to memory the maps that we have had with every other such order that has been before us.
Regulation 2(3) requires the insertion of the new regulation 28A. Regulation 28A(8) requires the substitution of the words "section 47" in regulation 16(1), but regulation 16(1) appears to refer to both sections 46 and 47.
