If the SNP members of the local councils in the area affected want to decide to provide such relief, they should make the necessary decisions, rather than send Roseanna Cunningham along to the Parliament to try to get someone else to make those decisions for them.The summit was about much more than the profit and loss to Scotland.

It was my experience growing up in Arran that we did not need a holiday to enjoy a ceilidh; we tended to get on with it anyway. Let me make it clear that next week's St Andrew's day celebrations do not consist only of a ceilidh, although that multicultural event will be important in itself.

I agree with Donald Gorrie that the problem often lies with adults, from whom children and young people learn their attitudes and values. There is sometimes an issue in getting adults to change their behaviour.

The GP receiving unit at Gartnavel might be enhanced and developed as a result of that work, but I have not yet seen the reports that will indicate what the thinking is in Glasgow. We must ensure that people get access, in time, to the right location and the right care.
