Transport and Works (Scotland) Bill: as amended at Stage 2 We commented on the bill at stage 1 and the Executive has responded to our concerns and amended the delegated powers. There are no new powers in the Bill. I will go through what has been altered.Members might recall that at stage 1 we were critical of the delegated powers memorandum.
Given the differing attitudes to the ways in which equalities are implemented and the political background to such discussions, it may be better for the subject to be discussed early on in a new parliamentary session rather than late on in an old one.
The cross-party group on the Scottish economy has not debated what I would like the new group to debate. I remember you and I doing an event with the Hansard Society that trotted into the area and opened it up.
Perhaps we have expended enough energy on that subject.The third item is a letter from Nicol Stephen about the new guidelines for national regional aid for 2007 to 2013.
I do not see the point of calling the usual suspects to a committee meeting. I speak as a new member of the Health Committee; I do not know who the usual suspects are, so I do not have an axe to grind.
As I have said, the enterprise networks have particular targets for helping women to start new businesses. It is pleasing that there has been significant success in that area.
