The HTBS will therefore appraise and evaluate a number of new drugs each year as part of its wider remit.When a new drug is marketed, the local Area Drug and Therapeutics Committees (ADTCs) have the role of providing advice to prescribers and health boards about whether or not the new medicine (or new therapeutic indication) should be adopted into practice.

Will he confirm when the Scottish Executive will commit to the principle of a new crossing of the Forth? Does he accept that although Scott Barrie has said publicly that Labour is in favour of a new Forth crossing, we do not yet know the Scottish Executive's position?

By 16 October, 521 premises had been tested, of which 74 failed and will be the subject of consideration for prosecution.Those are effective measures that can be taken under the new framework. I am optimistic that the difficulties that we have had in the past in attempting to prove offences will be overcome more effectively with the new tools that we have as a result of the 2005 act.
