That was addressed in the select committee evidence that was taken in Whitehall—assurances were given that training is available to officers. It is not a new aspect of their service. Service personnel are already subject to Scots law while they are resident in Scotland and the force is already delivering the training requirement.

Children need a stable and permanent environment to thrive.In Scotland, a significant number of children who are looked after away from home cannot return to their birth families and await placement with new permanent families. There are possibly around 500 such children, about half of whom await adoption.
