Next steps The Scottish Government should publish a plan, as soon as possible but at the very latest in the next six months, on how they will implement these recommendations.
As mentioned to the committee, the latest evidence from the OSPAR Quality Status Report 2023 further consolidates this picture of concern which was summarised by OSPAR across the Northeast Atlantic as “Given what we now know, more action is needed”.
Those are all part of the discussions that we continue to have. The core of the new fiscal framework and the new deal will be about trying to get that balance right.
