I remember that Hilary Benn spoke to the Parliament and gave evidence to the committee over a videolink. Douglas Alexander has also visited the Parliament on occasion. My colleagues are making a bit of a meal out of the matter.
I am not suggesting that we will have to spend a lot of time taking evidence, but we will want to ask specific questions; hearing from the minister will be the first step. Yesterday, I visited a primary 6 group at St Joseph's RC School in Aberdeen to find out about the school's outreach programme.
I welcome not only Karen Gillon's question but also the fact that, as the local constituency member for the state hospital, she has played a constructive and effective role in liaising with the hospital and assisting the local community's relationship with the hospital.I recognise the difficult job that is done by all the staff—not only clinical staff—who work at the state hospital. I visited the state hospital recently and spent considerable time in discussions with a range of staff and patients.

In her late paper, Rosemary Byrne raises a new point about the support that members who wish to introduce a bill receive from the non-Executive bills unit and so on.
Is it not the case that the problem is not new—it has been six years in the making—and that the reason why it has got so out of control is that the Executive and the First Minister have turned a blind eye for far too long?
I am sure that INCAS will have considered that, but if it has not it certainly has new rights to request information under FOI that it did not have before.
